Our Mission
Our Mission is to receive physical evidence from law enforcement agencies, on
criminal and civil cases, analyze and provide accurate results of forensic analysis
in timely manner, and testify in courts of law on analytical findings for the
people of gilgit baltistan.
The management team of Gilgit-Baltistan Forensic Science Agency, along with all its employees, is fully committed to maintaining the quality of laboratory services and ensuring that its services consistently meet the requirements of its customers (Law Enforcement Agencies).
The Gilgit-Baltistan Forensic Science Agency management upholds a quality management system that adheres to the requirements of international standards for testing and calibration laboratories, ISO/IEC 17025:2017, as well as other discipline-specific international forensic standards. This approach is aimed at achieving the highest level of satisfaction for its customers (Law Enforcement Agencies)
Training & Education
Training Courses for personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies are conducted throughout the year.
Seminars/ Training’s/ Workshops on Identification, Collection and preservation of evidence are conducted on need basis in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Forensic Scientists of the agency are provided continuing education in-house and abroad on regular basis. Forensic Scientists from other laboratories of the country get training in the practicing disciplines of the agency.
The establishment of the Gilgit-Baltistan Digital Forensic Lab (GB-DFL) is a significant step towards enhancing the region's capacity for modern crime investigation. The Gilgit-Baltistan Development Working Party (GB-DDWP) initially approved the project on March 11, 2022, with an allocated budget of Rs. 56.800 million.
